In this workshop, we'll explore how AI can bring a firm's accumulated negotiation experience into live matters — surfacing relevant precedents, identifying potential risks, and helping lawyers assess positions and negotiation strategies based on how similar issues have been handled before.

AI-enabled legal work extends well beyond prompting, but different approaches suit different tasks. This session introduces five practical upskilling levels—prompting, agents, multi-agent systems, structured workflows and agentic ways of working—and considers how each can support lawyers across a broad range of roles and practice areas.

Using accessible legal examples, the session will explore the opportunities, limitations and trade-offs associated with each level. Rather than presenting a single path or destination, it offers a spectrum for understanding how lawyers can select and combine different approaches according to the task, the context and the required degree of professional judgment and control.
